Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Today Pastor Randy preached from this passage and I was so encouraged. I have read this verse and applied this verse, but I am so excited to use this to serve others this year.
The three main points of the sermon are to
1. Draw Near to God.
2. Stay Near to God.
3. Consider others and their distance from God.
What an incredible challenge to work not only on my own walk with God but to encourage others in their walk with God. To consider how to exhort others. Interestingly, exhort is not just to encourage others, but to also confront people when there is sin. This needs to be done carefully and in love, but is part of exhortation. I so desire for others to walk with God and encourage me in the same thing. May this be a year of growth in my life as I seek to please God in every area of my life.
