Open Letter to the Cashiesr at Farway

An Open Letter to the Cashiers at Fareway,

Thank you for smiling.  Thank you for asking my children how they are today.  Thank you for not gasping in horror when you saw all my groceries and I told you, "This should last me for at least one week."  Thanks for not complaining when I write a check.  Thank you for saying, "Thank you, Susan."  When you hand me the receipt.  Thank you for talking to me while you are scanning my groceries.

I know that you spend the entire day interacting with people who do not always speak kindly to you or even get off their cell phones long enough to say, "Hello."  But I just want you to know that I appreciate you and your thankless job.  I will continue to shop at Fareway because of you and your kindness.  I will continue to shop at Fareway because you always check my eggs to make sure none are broken.  I will continue to shop at Fareway because even when my children are acting like circus performers, you still tell me how sweet and well behaved they are.  That cheers my heart more than you will ever know.

In closing, know that even if I don’t always say it, I appreciate you and your cheerful attitude while you work.

Susan

I went to Fareway Friday — had all 5 kiddos… I get a bit distracted with all 5 of them…

I owed $197. I handed her 2 $100 bills then $97 dollars. The cashier slid 1 $100 bill back to me. THANK YOU!! Then I said, "Oh — don't tell anyone I home school my kids!"

She LAUGHED And LAUGHED!! I too love Fareway Cashiers. Praise the Lord for honesty… that would have been quite a tip!

(Did you get the 93% hamburger for $1.99 a pound? I bought 3 tubes — I was busy Saturday — cooking and freezing!)

Jennifer, I did not get to the store at all last week, maybe tonight.

Do you cook on the stove or in the crock pot. I can get 10 pounds in my crock pot and cook it away and viola, its done and yummy.

    Susan
