Thinking on These Things – Thankful Thursday

Philippians 4:Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Today more than ever I am thankful for the Word of God and how it is our instruction book for life and godliness.  I am thankful that God has given it to us and that we can read what it says and understand it.  I was able to read through Philippians 4 with a dear friend today and it was a blessing to be able to read it with her and hold onto those truths together.

Sometimes we hear news that we are not expecting to hear and wonder “what if” and let those “what ifs” run away into all sorts of endings. But, those things are not true, they are only possibilities.  We are commanded to dwell on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous things and praiseworthy things.  All other things need to be put out of our mind and replaced with the other things.  We are to bring those thought under captivity to Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

It is exciting to see God change and grow me and to see him work in our family, growing and changing each of us.

To those who have wondered where I have been, we have had some big time internet issues since Christmas Eve.  They say it is fixed.  I say it is not.  It is frustrating.  And, now my computer is having issues.  While the kidlets got a computer for Christmas from their Grandparents, I am trying not to use it.  Photos are taking forever to upload and access.  I will get back into it.  And we started school again this week which slows everything else down, at least until we are back into full swing.
